Google Suite Connect

Step 1 — Enable the addon

Go to Dashboard → Addons → Google Suite Connect → Enable.

Step 2 — Authorize service account

Links uses a Google Service Account with domain-wide delegation. A Google Workspace Super Admin must:

1. Download the service account key from the Links addon settings
2. Go to admin.google.com → Security → API Controls → Domain-wide Delegation
3. Add a new API client with the service account's Client ID

Required OAuth scopes to authorize:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.user.readonly
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.group.readonly
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/chat.bot

Step 3 — Sync resource calendars

Addons → Google Suite Connect → Resource Calendars → Sync Now

Links discovers all Google Calendar resources (rooms) in your Workspace directory and prompts mapping to Links spaces.

Once resource calendars are connected:

• Links booking → Google Calendar: booking creates an event on the resource calendar and sends invites to all attendees
• Google Calendar event → Links: events on resource calendars create a block in Links, preventing double booking

Google Meet links are automatically generated for every booking and included in the calendar invite and booking confirmation email.

Sync latency: real-time for outbound, up to 60 seconds for inbound (Google Calendar webhook).

Route booking events to Google Chat spaces:

1. Workspace-level — post all bookings to a "Workspace Operations" Chat space
2. Per-space — post bookings for a specific room to a dedicated Chat space
3. Personal DMs — send booking confirmations and visitor arrival notices to the host's direct messages

Configure under Addons → Google Suite Connect → Chat → Notification Rules:

Directory sync runs every 15 minutes:

• New Google Workspace users → added to Links as Members
• Deactivated Google accounts → Links access revoked
• Google Groups → mapped to Links roles

Configure group-to-role mappings:

Addons → Google Suite Connect → Directory → Role Mappings → + Add Rule

Google Workspace SSO (SAML):

1. In Google Admin: Apps → Web and Mobile → Add App → Add custom SAML app
2. Download the IdP metadata XML
3. In Links: Settings → Security → SSO → Upload IdP Metadata
4. Test with a non-admin user before enabling for all
